Setting a New Standard
Standard Bank’s stylish new headquarters for its Corporate and Investment Banking Division is located on London’s Gresham Street. The building, which boasts a BREEM “excellent” rating, was designed by architect KPF.The workspace itself also places a strong emphasis on sustainability, with Bisley making a key contribution as well as providing a range of storage options from pedestals to filing cabinets.Workplace design specialist Gensler was commissioned to create a 11,000sq m workplace, accommodating 1,000 staff across three floors. As well as making extensive use of Bisley LateralFile™ units to provide storage - finished in a dramatic black with glass tops - Gensler also specified RecycleSpace™ units, which each provide three 80 litre recycling bins within a single LateralFile™ cupboard.Other highlights of the project include 32 Bisley LateralFile™ cabinets, which were modified to provide three drawers of bespoke height. Special 1,200mm wide units were also specified, which together form a curved credenza for the office of a senior staff member.
